Drug bust for truck driver

A truck driver travelling with his 11-year-old son has been charged after police said they found more than 30 grams of methamphetamine in his vehicle.
About 10am Thursday police were conducting random breath testing in Dangar Street, Narrabri, when they said they observed a B-Double truck, without compliant spray suppression devices, drive past.
An inspection of the vehicle revealed a number of other breaches, prompting police to conduct a search of the truck cabin.
Inside the vehicle’s cabin, which police said the driver, a 32-year-old Gunnedah man, had been sharing with his 11-year-old son, they allegedly found more than 30 grams of methamphetamine concealed in the driver’s side sun visor.
He was arrested and taken to Narrabri Police Station where he was charged with drug supply, drug possession and vehicle diary breach offences.
The man was granted bail to reappear in Narrabri Local Court on July 23. His son was placed in the care of relatives, police said.
