The Rowena cracker night has become an institution in the region, with the barbecue, bonfire and fireworks night being held every year for more than 20 years.
This year’s cracker night, held on Sunday, June 11, continued the tradition, with a fantastic crowd of 1400 people attending.
The cool dry evening provided the perfect weather conditions for the event, as hungry travellers and locals enjoyed a delicious barbecue meal of steak or sausage sandwiches, homemade coleslaw and a huge selection of desserts.
Live entertainment by Lloyd Bennett added to the atmosphere, as family groups set up their chairs and picnic rugs around numerous huge bonfires.
Organiser Bec Smith said it was wonderful to feel the community spirit at the cracker night, as the local families, who had worked hard to make this event happen, were able to enjoy their success.
