A local man has been charged with several drugs and firearms offences after police searched a Narrabri Shire property on Monday.
Inspector Robert Dunn, of Narrabri police, said members of the Tamworth-based region enforcement squad executed a search warrant at an Old Turrawan Road property about 11.30am.
The squad, part of a statewide initiative by the Police Commissioner, was acting on information obtained by local police.
At the property they allegedly found a hydroponic cannabis growing operation including more than 15 plants in hydroponic tents, about 800 grams of cannabis leaf, a bag containing about 48g of cannabis bud, a firearm which was leaning against the wall in a dining room, fireworks and cash.
Inspector Dunn said there was also allegedly plenty of evidence pointing to a growing operation including heat lamps, tents, exhaust fans, drying racks and fertiliser.
The drugs seized were allegedly being grown in a bedroom.
