Chinese promotional push

Narrabri Shire to be shown off to possible investors in March trip

Chinese promotional push

Narrabri Shire will be showcased to a province in China in March, in a move that is hoped to be the start of something much bigger.

Narrabri Shire councillors unanimously voted at the December meeting to approve the participation of Mayor Cathy Redding and a yet-to-be-decided council officer as part of the Namoi Unlimited Joint Organisation’s delegation to visit Ningbo Province in northeast China.

Ningbo is an agricultural centre.

The mayor’s trip will be paid for through the Joint Organisation (a group of seven councils throughout the New England and North West region) but the council officer’s trip will be borne by ratepayers, a cost of about $4000.
