But ‘job is not yet done’ for shire

Council thanks retiring Member

Narrabri Shire Council Mayor Cathy Redding has thanked Member for Barwon Kevin Humphries for his achievements on behalf of the shire, but is pushing for several more projects to be funded to ‘finish the job.’

Mr Humphries will retire at the March 19 state elections after 12 years representing Barwon electorate.

The mayor, on behalf of fellow Councillors, senior management and staff thanked Mr Humphries for his years of service to the electorate.

“Council has enjoyed a great working relationship with the Member for Barwon during this time, and it has been pleasing to share the results of what has been achieved for the electorate, but more particularly Narrabri Shire,” Cr Redding said.

“Recent notable results include the establishment of the Country Universities Centre at Narrabri, funding of the major upgrade of Culgoora Road between Narrabri and Wee Waa and funding provided to develop the business case and masterplan for the proposed Narrabri Industrial and Logistics Hub.

“While these results have been wonderful for Narrabri Shire, there are still a number of matters that the Council and community would like to see addressed,” Cr Redding said.
