Input sought on road priorities

Narrabri Shire Council will establish a community ‘focus’ group to work with the council on prioritising future roadworks across the shire.

The formation of the proposed group follows a recent review of Narrabri Shire Council’s roads network which yielded a ‘glowing report of asset management, and works that will sustain the region for years to come’ shire general manager Stewart Todd said.

“The report was prepared by Infrastructure Management Group and Assetic, both considered leading experts in the assessment of assets and strategic modelling of infrastructure respectively.”

Mr Todd said he was pleased with the healthy roads report card.

“The results indicated that a majority of the sealed road network is in excellent condition, with a significant proportion of our gravel roads also in excellent to good condition.”

Community consultation will be sought on council’s strategic planning, Director Infrastructure Delivery Darren Raeck said.
