Now there’s even more to the Youth Shack

For kids the good news is that the Youth Shack is now able to open five days a week from 3pm to 7pm.

Senior Constable Will Kirby was popular with the kids at the Youth Shack open day/Youth Insearch opening last Wednesday evening. He is pictured here with, back, Blake Boney, Rachel Jones, Lakeiya Dennis, Malik Dennis, Jye Anderson and Ashton Smith, front, Neeve Mor.

The Youth Shack hasn’t been around as long as some of Narrabri’s more established institutions but every step since it opened three years ago has seen it rapidly being on its way to joining them.

And that was the case again last Wednesday, June 13, when the Youth Shack hold an open day which also doubled as the official opening of the Panton Cottage venue’s role as the local base for Youth Insearch.

For kids the good news is that the Youth Shack is now able to open five days a week from 3pm to 7pm, giving those aged 12 to 18 a safe space to hang out.

And there are plenty who’ll take advantage of the extra hours, if the open day was any guide.

Dozens of young people and almost as many adults attended, and many got to learn more about what the Youth Shack has to offer.
