When Mark Gett of Whynot Dorpers began the long trek to Sydney with 10 sheep for the Royal Easter Show recently, it was largely to ensure he did his bit for the breed, the featured sheep breed at the show this year.
He scarcely would have imagined what was to follow.
Whynot’s 10 sheep made the return trip with some extra baggage - 14 ribbons between them including grand champion ram, reserve champion ram and most successful exhibitor at the show.
It was a fitting reward for some hard work in the lead-up to the show as well as a commitment to improve the breed.
So how did Whynot manage to dominate at the show?
