The coffee's on the cops

Popular event returns next week

Sergeant Daniel Cooper and Inspector Robert Dunn are happy to shout you a coffee and answer any questions you might have about policing in Narrabri Shire at Coffee With a Cop next week.

Narrabri police have had a few community initiatives in recent years, and one of the more popular ones is set to return next week.

Yes, Coffee With a Cop is back.

The initiative proved a hit last year, with many locals taking advantage of a relaxed setting to ask questions of local officers.

And that’s the aim again this year for the event, which will be held at One23 Cafe and Restaurant from 10am on Tuesday, May 8.

With Narrabri now moved from the former Moree-headquartered Barwon Local Area Command to the Tamworth-based New England Police District, many residents still have questions about how the new set up works.

Officer in charge of Narrabri Shire Inspector Robert Dunn said next Tuesday would be an ideal time to get those, and any other queries answered.

“It’s an opportunity to have a one-on-one conversation with the police who are serving in your community,” he said.
