He had the world at his feet - a loving family, a beautiful relationship, an abundance of friends, and a very bright future.
But on Easter Monday Toby Linehan’s life was tragically cut short.
The Narrabri 18-year-old was returning home from a weekend away with girlfriend Lidia McCauley and three mates, when the car that they were travelling north in and another southbound vehicle collided head on on the Kamilaroi Highway just north of Boggabri.
Toby died at the scene, which was just 30 minutes from home.
It was an accident which stunned not just his family and friends, but an entire community.
Toby had a special personality and countless wonderful traits.
He was funny, smart, cheeky, respectful, and he could make anyone smile.
Toby loved his sport, his family, and life itself.
He was a person who you couldn’t help but enjoy being around.
Toby’s father Martin said that he was extremely proud of his son, and the life that he lived.
“I don’t have a negative memory of my son, I just don’t,” Martin said.
“I don’t regret a minute of our time together.
“It’s just been special all the way.
“He was never a difficult two-year-old, he was never a troublesome teenager, and he always, always showed us respect. He was fun.”
