Ulysses is coming

About 120 Ulysses Club members will ride into the Shire for the weekend

Ulysses Club members on their Odyssey last year. About 120 will ride into Narrabri on Friday for the weekend.

Narrabri residents will hear the roar of many motorbikes on Friday when 120 members of the Ulysses Club’s Sydney branch ride into town aboard their big Harleys, BMWs, Hondas and Yamahas.

The visitors are coming to Narrabri on their annual ‘Odyssey’ road trip. They will make Narrabri Bowling Club their base for the weekend and plan to see the sights in Narrabri, Wee Waa and the district.

The Ulysses riders have booked out several motels and spread into caravan parks.

The visit will be a welcome boost for the local economy, one of the factors which led to the choice by the club of Narrabri as their Odyssey destination.

“When we met to plan our annual trip, this is the 28th, members wanted to come to Narrabri and support the community in this drought,” said Sydney branch secretary Dave Williams.

“We are all very much looking forward to coming to Narrabri shire” said Dave Williams.

“We picked Narrabri out as we looked at several towns in the north west.”

“The first thing we look at is ‘do they really want us there?’” said Mr Williams.

“We look at the facilities, accommodation around the venue, scenic attractions, and we decided on Narrabri - it ticked all the boxes."
