Another fire at Gin’s Leap as search for firebug continues

Yet another small grass fire

Police are investigating yet another small grass fire in the Boggabri region.

Inspector Robert Dunn, of Narrabri police, said emergency services were called to Gin’s Leap about 11.20pm on June 3.

The fire burned about 500 square metres and is believed to have been deliberately lit.

As reported in The Courier recently, there have been several small fires in the area between Turrawan and Boggabri in recent times, with at least six now at Gin’s Leap.

Both police and the Rural Fire Service have blasted the actions of whoever is responsible - the fires are believed to be linked.
