On Friday, March 23, students and staff at Narrabri High School participated in an afternoon filled with fun at the school field.
There they honoured the life of former student Brendon Lennox, who passed away last year.
Brendon was a fan of supercar racing, especially of both Holdens and Fords.
That inspired the what was named the Lennox 1000.
More than $1000 was raised from the event, which will go to Ronald McDonald House.
The day was out of uniform where students were encouraged to wear red or blue, representing Holden and Ford.
It included a sausage sizzle music, and ‘supercar races’.
Students and teachers built cars from cardboard, and competed in a number of races.
Brendon’s family were at the Lennox 1000 to support the event.
