The Narrabri Blue Boars headed to Quirindi on Saturday afternoon to challenge the Lions in round eight of the Central North Rugby Union season.
They returned home with five valuable points following a 48-5 win.
Jacob Booby and Will Morley both crossed for doubles, with the other four tries shared evenly between Mitch Clifton, Matt Schwager, Pat Brummell and Linton Grumley.
Morley converted four of those tries to finish the match with 18 points.
Despite earning a bonus point the Blue Boars finished the round in fifth spot, just as they entered it.
However, Narrabri trails third-placed Gunnedah and fourth-placed Barraba on points difference, with all three sides locked on 28 points after the weekend games.
The Lions won several early penalties on Saturday to put Narrabri on the back foot, but the visitors defended well to keep Quirindi at bay.
Narrabri got the lead in the sixth minute when outside centre Booby ran 70 metres, beating four defenders on the way to score under the posts.
Morley converted to make the score 7-0.
