Blues thrash Warriors in trial

Narrabri demolished Collegian Warriors 40-0 on Sunday

Jed Smith in action on Sunday against Collegian Warriors. Smith was one of Narrabri’s seven tryscorers, crossing for the first four-pointer after just seven seconds.

Seven tries, seven different tryscorers, a try after seven seconds, 40 points scored and no points conceded.

That is what the Narrabri Blues produced during a dominant 40-0 win against the Collegian Warriors in the sides’ trial match at Collins Park on Sunday.

And at full time a strong crowd left the match content, and in anticipation that the 2017 might just be the Blues’ year.

However, Blues coach John Rumsby said that not a lot should be read into the match.

The Blues’ opponents only brought 22 senior players to Collins Park, meaning that a few had to back up against the home side in first grade.

He said that it was disappointing considering it was the club’s final trial.

Despite that, he was extremely impressed with the way his side dominated the game, despite missing four or five players who will feature in first grade in 2017.
