While just one round of Namoi Soccer League matches have been contested in 2017, the Northern NSW National Premier League season in Newcastle is now six weeks old.
And Narrabri boy Cooper Brayshaw is thriving in the competition with the Lake Macquarie City Roosters under-18s side.
Brayshaw decided to make the move to the city at the beginning of 2016.
He moved his whole life to Newcastle, where he finished Year 12 at Glendale High School, and played his soccer for the Edgeworth Eagles under-19 side.
A change of scenery this season has benefitted Brayshaw, who said that he was loving his soccer more than ever.
“Newcastle is a welcoming city,” he said.
