The 2016 Narrabri Shire sportsperson of the year Damon Marshall is finally home, following seven weeks in Sydney and Brisbane.
And despite creating another experience which he will cherish for a lifetime, the 18-year-old cyclist said that he was happy to be home.
Marshall competed at his second National Championships at senior level at the Brisbane event from March 3-5.
However this was his first as an elite cyclist.
At the conclusion of the championships Marshall had finished in the top 16 elite sprinters in Australia, and as the ninth best elite keirin-rider in the country. It was an enormous effort.
They were results which Marshall said that he was extremely proud of.
“I’m pretty stoked to first of all qualify because that was my big goal and I hit that one,” he said.
