The Narrabri District Cricket Association's representative side contested its first War Veterans Cup match on Sunday, when it welcomed Gunnedah to Collins Park.
And the Pink Slugs were successful, defeating the visitors by 42 runs in the round three match.
After a bye and a washed out draw to begin the season, the side was hungry for its representative campaign to finally begin.
Narrabri lost its final wicket from the second last ball of the second last over, all out for 170.
It then bowled out Gunnedah in the 45th over for 128 to claim the crucial victory.
It was not all one-way traffic, with Gunnedah looking well-and-truly on top at several stages of both innings.
But the determination of a young Narrabri side helped it secure the win.
It entered the game without four key batsmen in skipper Lachlan Cameron, Mick Dowdell, Tom Craig and Coby Cornish.
