Local show rider Ella Parish finished a very successful show run back in March when she competed at the 2018 Grand nationals in Sydney.

Ella, the daughter of Steve and Di Parish, qualified for that event at Horse of the Year in Sydney last year, where she was crowned reserve champion rider.

Since then the 13-year-old has ridden to success on a number of occasions, and has earned a spot to compete at the prestigious 2019 Grand Nationals.

Ella competed at the Sydney Royal several weeks ago in five events.

She placed second in the open ANSA event against all the professional adults.

She also had a third, placed fourth in her opens and as well as fifth in her novice rider.

Her team then travelled to the Bathurst Royal where she won her open ANSA and placed in the opens.

At that event Ella also won the novice rider and was crowned champion novice rider.

She then went on to win her rider 12-years-to-under-15 to claim reserve champion, qualifying for a ticket to Grand Nationals in 2019 in the process.

Ella’s horse, a 12-year-old chestnut gelding named Toy (Moniceito Park Royal Flush) is leased, owned by Tanya Benton Hall.
