Four teams storm into deciders

Narrabri Basketball Association grand final teams decided

Namoi’s Trish Lawty looks for a way around The Green Team’s Stan Iramu in a Narrabri Basketball Association mixed competition semi-final on Tuesday evening.

The Narrabri Basketball Association hosted four semi-finals last week - two in the mixed competition on Tuesday evening and two in the men’s competition on Wednesday evening.

The semi-finals in both competitions saw the minor premiers play the fourth-ranked side, and the second-placed team play the third-placed side.

The winners of those matches went straight through to the grand finals, which will be played on Wednesday.

Those four teams are Namoi and RSL Raptors (mixed) and Magic and Thunder (men’s).

On Tuesday night the mixed competition minor premiers Namoi defeated The Green Team 26-18.

Second-placed RSL Raptors were too good for Thunder, winning the knockout contest 28-26.

In men’s action on Wednesday minor premiers Magic downed the RSL Raptors 39-9, and Thunder outscored Gumboot Ballers 33-18.
