Ladies bowls 2017 spring carnival

A Narrabri team placed third in the annual spring carnival

Narrabri bowler Helen Woodward in action on Sunday morning at the annual Narrabri ladies bowls spring carnival.

The Narrabri lady bowlers held their spring carnival over the weekend at the Narrabri Bowling Club.

More than 100 bowlers took part in a very successful event.

In total 26 teams took part, with teams travelling from the Hills in Sydney, Cessnock, Telarah, Charlestown, Armidale, Gunnedah, Kootingal, Kahibah, Guyra, Manilla, Wee Waa, Kurri Kurri.

Each team was made up of four bowlers.

The winners for the weekend were the Cessnock team of Fay Orchard, Merrell Slade, Fay Lewis and Wilma Cox.

Second place went to Charlestown team Ros Lott, Kim Workman, Janet Gray and Karon Mason.

A Narrabri team placed third at its home carnival.

That team was made up of Sue Solomon, Ronnie Dewar, Trish Allison and Heather Caton.

In fourth place was the Gunnedah team which included Carol Baker, Jo Cunningham, Ellen Riley and Margo Marshall.

The Bradman went to a composite team from Guyra and Armidale.

Its team members were Elfie Brunner, Dot Jackson, Bertha Reeves and Dot Tremayne.
