Narrabri Netball Association hosted its 2018 winter season twilight grand final event on Saturday at the Bev Burrows Courts.

Five fast-paced, highly-entertaining matches were contested.

This year’s NNA A-grade grand final winners were Mixed Up, which defeated minor premiers and defending champions Fever 42-36 in Saturday’s main game under lights.

Mixed Up’s 2018 squad included Rylee Baker, Emma Young, Grace Tomlinson, Mae Harvey, Meagan Dampney, Kira Goodhew, Mackenzie Russell, Karyna Penberthy and Jenna Sunderland.

On Saturday night the side led the more experienced Fever 13-10 at quarter time, then won the second term 13-8 to lead 26-18 at the break.

Fever won the third quarter by three to make the three-quarter time score 31-26.

Mixed Up then outscored Fever 11-10 in the final quarter to win the 2018 premiership by six points.

Mixed Up’s Megan Dampney was named the player of the grand final in recognition of a standout performance.

The B- and C-grade games were even closer contests.

In B-grade the RSL Babes defeated Bron’s Babes 47-43, while in C-grade Wee Waa downed MGAS 13s 27-23.

Both junior grand finals were decided by seven points.

In the under-11-13 competition Crusaders defeated C and W Firebirds 22-17, and in under-9/10s Saphires beat Diamonds 17-10.
