Narrabri FC wins minor premiership

Narrabri FC finished first by four points on the Namoi Soccer League table

Wee Waa’s Jerry Wohling and Narrabri FC’s Daniel Hall race to the ball in Narrabri FC’s 5-0 win on Saturday at Hogan Oval.

Narrabri FC claimed the 2017 Namoi Soccer League minor premiership on Saturday afternoon.

It welcomed Wee Waa United FC to Hogan Oval in the final round of the regular season.

The Narrabri side was one point clear of the second-placed Moree Services FC going into round 15, so a win would have guaranteed Narrabri FC the top spot.

That is the way the match panned out.

The top-ranked side produced a dominant second half, which saw all five of its goals fly in.

The other Narrabri team Crossroads Eleven FC won its first match since round eight, when it defeated Moree Two away from home.

It scored a 2-0 victory in that match.

That meant that if second-placed Moree SFC beat Gunnedah United, Crossroads would have finished third.

However, Moree forfeited, which gifted Gunnedah a 3-0 victory.
