Narrabri High School enjoys round one Uni Shield win

The Narrabri boys move on to round two

Narrabri High School’s Damon Steel dives over for his second try of the match at Cooma Oval yesterday morning, easily shrugging off three Gunnedah defenders in the process.

The Narrabri High School open boys rugby league team got off to a flying start in the Uni Shield rugby league knockout competition yesterday.

The side made the final four of the competition in 2016, losing to Singleton High School in the semi-final.

Playing against Gunnedah at Cooma Oval in Narrabri yesterday, the boys scored from the first set when Toby Linehan ran 95m to cross for the opening try of the one-way affair.

Five eighth Will Morley finished the match with a hat trick of tries, halfback Rodney Lamb crashed over for one as did winger Nick Tomlinson and Adam Hennessey, and centre Damon Steel finished with a brace.

The side went on to win 36-0 in a dominant display.
