Test series headlines a big weekend

The Narrabri Polocrosse Club will host the second of its two annual carnivals this Saturday and Sunday.

And this one is set to be quite extraordinary.

The club will host 60 teams at its home ground the Narrabri Racecourse.

Two of those teams are Australian representative under-16 sides that will play three matches in the Coates Hire Junior Test Series, two of which will be played under lights.

One will be contested on Friday night and another on Saturday night.

Narrabri Polocrosse Club’s Makayla Elford and Galloping Gully’s Tom Hamilton will compete in that series.

The annual Narrabri Junior Challenge will see 15 teams compete, and there will also be a massive club team carnival.

Adding to an action-packed weekend is a sub-junior (12-years-and-under) game played on Saturday night as a curtain-raiser to the final test match.

Players for that game will be chosen by NSW selectors from Saturday’s play.

Narrabri Polocrosse Club secretary Kristy Bullen said that she was excited about the huge weekend of polocrosse.

“This is like three carnivals rolled into one,” Bullen said. “It’s crazy, but our whole club loves a challenge.”

Bullen encouraged the local community to come down and watch the action unfold.

“Polocrosse is an awesome sport and we have Australian representative players in this area,” she said.
