This weekend is a significant one for Boggabri footy fans.

That is because on Saturday the Boggabri Kangaroos will run out for the club’s first competitive match since the league tag side went down to Uralla in the preliminary final on Saturday, September 3 last year.

The club will face the side that knocked its men’s Shield team out of the finals series in week one last season - the Dungowan Cowboys.

It is a challenge that club president Greg Haire said that the club was looking forward to.

“We’ve never won up there,” Haire said. “It’s always a tough battle.”
