The Narrabri District Junior Cricket Association under-12s team was victorious on Sunday at Leitch Oval in the second round of the 2018-19 Ross Panton Cup.
Narrabri welcomed Armidale to town and secured a two-wicket win in the Northern Inland Cricket Council competition.
Narrabri won the toss and sent Armidale into bat.
The visitors made 103 from 29.3 overs, before the home side reached 115 for the loss of eight wickets in the 23rd over.
Jonty Fowler starred for Narrabri with the ball with a five-wicket haul.
Jonty finished the innings with 5-3 from five overs.
That included three maidens, one of which was a double-wicket maiden and two of which were wicket-maidens.
Jonty ripped through the Armidale top order, removing both openers and the number three batsman, as well as the number five batsman.
He then took a late wicket to complete a marvellous spell.
Sam Elms (2-10 from 3.3 overs) and Darcy Gleeson (2-14 from two overs) were Narrabri’s other two multiple wicket takers, and Kyne Allen finished with 1-6 from two overs.
With the bat Clay Hoffman starred for Narrabri.
He scored an unbeaten 61 to guide his side to victory with a remarkable innings included 10 boundaries.
Darcy Todd (12) and Darcy Gleeson (10) were the only other Narrabri batsmen to reach double fugures.
Round three of the Ross Panton Cup will be played on Sunday, December 2, but Narrabri has the bye.
The side will return to action in round four away from home against Inverell on Sunday, December 16.
