Biggest, best Business Awards

Capacity audience applauds Narrabri’s best small business operators

Bohena Pet Motel operators Danny and Vicki Allan are congratulated by Jamie Frankcombe from Whitehaven Coal.

The Bohena Pet Motel was named the Business of the Year at the Whitehaven Coal Narrabri Chamber of Commerce Business Awards at The Crossing Theatre on Saturday night.

The event was the 14th annual awards night recognising the achievements of small businesses across a range of categories with over one hundred Narrabri businesses and young entrepreneurs nominated for the awards. Prior to the announcement of Bohena Pet Motel as Business of the Year, Will Childs was declared the winner of the Young Entrepreneur 2018 title.

“I had continual fantastic feedback all night with a number of out of town guests saying that ‘this is the best awards night’ they have ever attended,” Narrabri and District Chamber of Commerce president Russell Stewart said.

“The Crossing Theatre looked absolutely outstanding with the on-stage props being a colourful feature.

“The service and catering was of a very high standard.”

All the elements played into a highly successful night, maintaining the tradition of the business awards as Narrabri’s gala event of the year, a celebration of local businesses.

“The Business Awards simply would not be possible without the extremely generous support of our sponsors who continually turn up and back the business community,” Mr Stewart said.
